Overview
Management is what makes the federal government work and identifying and nurturing new leaders is essential to good government’s future. This course will give you new insights to create a development plan for continued leadership growth. This course is designed for high-performing career specialists, team leaders, and emerging supervisors who have one year or less of supervisory experience. You will receive personalized feedback from assessment specialists, superiors, peers and subordinates and gain greater understanding of how personal behaviors affect workplace interactions. Additionally, you will gain insight from intensive assessment and self-observation and leave with a greater self-awareness and knowledge of your strengths and areas for development. The curriculum includes assessments, self-analysis and team activities.
Course Learning Objectives
- Identify conflict management styles and situations where they are most appropriate
- Determine the appropriate individuals needed for a decision-making process
- Interact with peers in a tactful manner
- Orally present ideas and facts in a clear, organized, and convincing manner and in a style, tone, and level appropriate to the audience and the occasion
- Determine possible causes of workforce problems and recommend corrective action
