Overview

We know that the practice of inclusive leadership leads to more innovative, high-performing, and effective teams, but many of our best efforts fall short. In this course you'll explore how simply understanding your own implicit biases, mindsets, beliefs, and behaviors is not enough. You'll analyze which leadership actions help sustain shifts in team values, beliefs, and behaviors needed for diversity and equity.

Over four intensive days, you'll examine the challenge of leading inclusively from “the outside in.” You'll work through your own current, real-life inclusive leadership challenge, analyzing it from the levels of organization, team, and self.

Each skill and tool you'll consider in this course is designed to deepen your understanding of the complex challenges of diversity and equity, how we ourselves are part of those challenges, and what actions we can take to we to move toward diverse, inclusive cultures.

How You Will Benefit

At the conclusion of this course, you'll have practiced:

  • Diagnosing the root cause of complex inclusive leadership challenges, particularly systems, practices, and mindsets that get in the way of progress
  • Critical reflection and increasing your ability to look at a challenge from multiple perspectives and considering your own role in hindering or fostering a culture of inclusion
  • Leveraging conflict and surfacing issues that compel the organization and leaders to look at behaviors, loyalties, biases, and values that must be examined or shifted for change to be sustainable
  • Adopting a mindset of experimentation as the way forward to learn what is needed when the solution is unclear, and the future is uncertain

Mid-level and new managers, team leaders, and change management agents.
