Overview

Drawing in its multiple variations -sketching, diagramming, doodling, tracing, collaging, rendering, etc. is at the core of the human-centered design process in government. We put pen to paper, and marker to whiteboard, to quickly visualize and explain complex problems; to understand the depth of the insights and ideas we generate to address them; and to present our design process to an audience. In design, visual eloquence is a requisite to express, explain, communicate, and clarify to others -and to ourselves- what would be much harder and slower to explain with written or spoken words. This hands-on module introduces the principles of visual eloquence for thinking and acting in human-centered design.

How You Will Benefit

Participants will experiment with several visual and graphic channels that will build a foundation to understand the possibilities of thinking visually and communicating ideas effectively.
